Xia Brookside is now on the injured list.
The former NXT UK star revealed on her social media that she's unable to compete because of an injury, though she never clarifies exactly what the injury is.
Nevertheless, it’s disappointing to hear that the former WWE star has been forced out of the squared circle due to injury. Brookside originally came to TNA in early 2024 at the Hard to Kill pay-per-view.
The 26-year-old spent two years in WWE after taking part in the second Mae Young Classic. Though she lost in the first round to Io Sky, Brookside impressed officials and they offered her an NXT UK contract.
Brookside had a solid run down in the UK brand even though she was never the focal point. She’s had great matches with Meiko Satomura and Jinny; Brookside was also in the midst of a character change as NXT UK shut down. She was eventually released from her contract in August 2022 and Brookside reflected on her time in NXT UK during her interview with Sportskeeda:
"I've grown so much in that time that when it's taken away from you, you're like, 'Hang on a minute, I just bought a house, I'm getting married. There's so much coming up.' And I was just like, 'Well, what do I do?'"
Brookside then named Impact as one of the promotions that she wanted to sign to and notably pointed out Mickie James as someone she wanted to wrestle, "I want to go to Impact and wrestle Mickie James, that would be crazy. You know what I mean?" And while she is not in the ring, Brookside insisted she will move beyond the loss of the "NXT UK" spotlight. "Everyone has setbacks, but it's what you do with them,"
Brookside has been a solid addition to the TNA roster even though she’s mainly in the mid-card side of the knockouts division. Xia has had nice showings against Jordynne Grace and Tasha Steelz, though she did fall down the card following her Triple Threat match at Sacrifice 2024. Xia last competed on November 29th where she lost to Rosemary in a Triple Threat match that also involved Savannah Evans.
It’s not known when Xia was injured, nor has she revealed a timeline for her return. Here’s wishing the TNA star all the best for a quick and full recovery.
