205 LIVE Superstar Hideo Itami Has Reportedly Requested And Been Granted His Release From WWE

Though WWE has not yet made it official, it looks like Hideo Itami has finished up with the company.

According to Fightful.com, the former NXT and current 205 Live Superstar asked for his release and was granted it with a 90-day no-compete clause attached. It's worth noting that Itami has gone back to his original name KENTA on Twitter, and sent out the following message to his fans last night.

Itami never found his feet in WWE so this is not that surprising. After coming in hot to NXT, he was plagued by a series of injuries that kept him from the main event spot he really deserved an opportunity at. His English was also said to be an issue, and hindered his ability to get himself over on the mic to some extent.

At any rate, WWE's loss will almost certainly be indie wrestling fans' gain, as we will soon get to see KENTA kicking people's heads off their shoulders again.
