Dave Meltzer has provided an update on the situation with Luke Harper in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter and it doesn't appear as if WWE has any plans to let the former tag team champion go.

It's no secret that WWE decided to extend his contract by six months and it appears as if that was Triple H's decision because when Harper went to Vince McMahon to ask if he could be released in November, he was told to talk to The Game about it instead.

It's said that Triple H didn't respond to him and while he hasn't been booked for any shows moving forward, it seems he was surprised to learn that a further six months was added to it because of the time he spent out with an injury.

Now, like Neville before him, it appears as if Harper is being kept in WWE against his will and that means we won't see him hit the independent scene until well into next year.
