During Monday night's episode of RAW, WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella returned and was confronted by one-half of the Women's Tag Team Champion's Liv Morgan.
The heel ultimately laid her out, seemingly setting the stage for Nikki vs. Liv at the upcoming Evolution 2 PLE. However, it seems WWE has other plans, as TMZ is reporting that Brie Bella is in talks to make her in-ring return for the company.
"A source with direct knowledge tells us Nikki's twin is in talks to unretire and help her sister kick some ass at the promotion's all-women Pay-Per-view event, 'Evolution,' next month," the site reveals. "We're told Brie is pissed about Morgan referencing Nikki's highly publicized split from Artem Chigvintsev -- who was arrested for domestic violence in August 2024, resulting in the couple's divorce a month later."
Brie hasn't stepped into a WWE ring since 2022 when she made a surprise appearance in the Women's Royal Rumble match. The Bella Twins reuniting to challenge Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the Women's Tag Team titles makes sense for the show, and we'd bet on the two legends winning the belts.
They'll likely have a brief run with them before dropping the titles at SummerSlam, though WWE could have long-term plans for the duo. We'll have to wait and see (it's been a while since both women stepped into the ring, after all).
Talking at the post-show press conference for Money in the Bank this past weekend, Triple H said this of WWE's plans for Evolution 2:
"I wanted to do Evolution 2 since Evolution 1. Probably even before we did it, I was trying to figure out how to do Evolution 2. For a lot of different reasons, the timing wasn’t right. Now it is. I’m thrilled to be able to do it again. The truth is, as amazing as the women in our business were then, it’s grown exponentially."
"The biggest trick we’ll have is how do we build that card out and have that many women and fit as many people into that card. Everyone is going to want to be a part of it, and we want to make sure everybody gets to do something. That will be the trickiest part."
"What’s awesome for us is the demand for it. Across the fanbase, people have been asking for it, and the opportunity for us to give it to them now. We keep things quiet a lot. When talent first start to catch wind of, ‘We’re doing Evolution again?’ You see that gleam in their eye and their excitement about it, it’s awesome."
"Now, they’re just chomping at the bit to get there and figure out what that is and what it’s going to be. They’re looking to kill it and make a statement."
"A lot of these women watched the first one and for them, while they thought about being on Raw and SmackDown and dream about WrestleMania, I’m sure a lot of those women were like, ‘If they did another [Evolution], that would be incredible,’ and here we are. I can’t wait to build that platform and watch them crush it. It’s what they do every time."
