When Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was moved to SmackDown, there were concerns among fans about how many viable contenders were on the blue brand for the American Nightmare.
So far, he's retained his title in battles with AJ Styles and Logan Paul, but Rhodes and the Phenomenal One will go one-on-one all over again at Clash at the Castle next weekend.
Styles faked his retirement during last week's SmackDown and ended up attacking Rhodes with a brutal Styles Clash off the steel steps. Now reunited with The OC, it's clear he isn't giving up his quest to become Undisputed WWE Champion.
Last night's SmackDown saw a furious Rhodes give Styles a rematch in Glasgow, Scotland, albeit with an unexpected stipulation: it's going to be an "I Quit" match!
An "I Quit" match in WWE is a no-disqualification bout where the only way to win is by making the opponent say "I quit" into a microphone. Known for their intensity and brutality, these matches often involve high levels of violence and the use of weapons.
The first "I Quit" match took place at Starrcade 1985 between Tully Blanchard and Magnum T.A. in the NWA, and WWE's first was at the 1993 Royal Rumble featuring Bret Hart vs. Bob Backlund.
A Women's Tag Team Championship match has also been added to the Clash at the Castle card with Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill defending against Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark, and Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn, in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match.
