During his match with Randy Orton at Backlash, Edge suffered a tricep injury which is likely to keep him out of action for most, if not all, of 2020. However, it doesn't appear as if he's just sitting at home because the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter reveals that he's started working for the company behind the scenes of RAW.
Oh, and while we haven't seen a huge amount of former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan on SmackDown lately, it'a also said that the leader of the Yes Movement is also working in a similar capacity.
"Edge on Raw and Daniel Bryan on SmackDown both have significant creative influence," Meltzer reveals. "The term I was given is they were part of the writing teams of the respective shows right now." This is definitely a surprise, though a smart move on WWE's part.
Creative in the company has been lacking a lot in recent months (years?), and the insight of both Bryan and Edge should help WWE in a big way. Bryan hasn't actually wrestled on television since the end of May, but he has to be careful due to his wife Brie Bella being so close to giving birth. Chances are he's been able to fill this role from home.
What do you guys make of these behind the scenes changes?
