Dave Bautista Says He Has Spoken To WWE About A Possible Return, But Doesn't Miss The Company's "B*llshit"
Dave Bautista was a guest on Chris Jericho's podcast, and admitted that he has been chatting with WWE about a possible return... but only on his terms. Find out what "The Animal" had to say after the jump...
Dave Bautista (or, Batista as WWE fans will know him best) hasn't stepped through the ropes in quite some time, as he's been a little busy becoming a bonafide Hollywood action superstar - but it definitely sounds like he still has another run left in him.
While chatting with Chris Jericho on the latest episode of his podcast, Bautista admitted that he does miss mixing it up in the ring, but not all of the "bullshit" that comes along with it in The WWE.
“Yeah, I miss it a lot. There’s nothing like it, you know that. There’s just an adrenaline rush that goes along with it. What I don’t miss is the company, to be honest with you. I don’t miss WWE. I miss wrestling, I just don’t miss dealing with the company and its bullshit. Yeah it’s the bullshit man, it’s just too much bullshit.”
That sounds like a lot of bullshit. To be fair, it's hard to blame Bautista for feeling this way. His last run with the company was basically a disaster because they attempted to push him as a face while also doing their very best to dampen Daniel Bryan's popularity, which was simply never going to work. Frustrated crowds booed the hell out of him for pretty much the same reason they're currently booing Roman Reigns, and WWE didn't seem to do very much to sway opinion.
However, The Animal does want one more run with the company - provided he gets to work with his old Evolution stablemate, Triple H.
“I’ve asked, yeah, I’ve asked. I’ve asked for what I want. I’ll tell you and I’ve talked to [Triple H] about it and I’ve talked to Vince [McMahon] about it. I said I would come back and run a whole program with [Triple H]. That’s the only thing I’m interested in doing. They’re just not interested in it, you know?”
Dave says that if he did get to do that feud with The Game, it would most likely be his retirement run. It doesn't sound like The WWE has any current plans for that right now, but maybe someday. For the time being, Bautista has his hands full playing Drax in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and has plenty more projects in the pipeline.
