A lot happened during last night's episode of SmackDown, and that included the return of The Demon! Finn Balor will challenge Roman Reigns for his Universal title at Extreme Rules, but what about Brock Lesnar?

Last night's episode of SmackDown came our way from Madison Square Garden in New York City, and the action kicked off with a confrontation between Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.

WWE continued to tease Paul Heyman's loyalties, while a brawl broke out between the Head of the Table and The Beast shortly after the latter challenged Reigns for his title. It wasn't until much later in the night that Roman answered (he accepts!), but he'll have to get through The Demon before then.

Yes, Finn Balor brought the gimmick back for this Extreme Rules match, and we now just have to hope he's not being fed to Reigns (who is on track for a much bigger match with Lesnar down the line).

Balor has talked a lot about wanting to keep the focus on his Prince persona, but WWE clearly had different ideas. The Demon was definitely watered down during the former NXT Champion's last NXT run, so fans will no doubt be keeping everything crossed the same mistakes aren't repeated.

Honestly could not care less. About Balor or the “tribal chief” or “head of the table.” Those “monicker” titles are so obviously made up from a sales/marketing group. Nothing in WWE seems original and hasn’t for years. I feel bad for the professional wrestlers who aren’t allowed to cut an original promo or use their own creativity. If the attitude era was anything like today’s product, there never would have been a 3:16, DX, or Rock. Detest the computer graphics during some of the entrances.
