At last year's SummerSlam, Finn Balor defeated Seth Rollins to become the first ever WWE Universal Champion. However, an injury sustained during that match saw him forced to give up the title 24 hours later and he's been stuck in the mid-card since making his return to RAW. However, after taking down Bray Wyatt, Balor once again has his sights set on that title!
With his momentum on the rise, you can't blame Balor for wanting to get his hands on that title but The Demon admitted that it's specifically Brock Lesnar that he hopes to defeat for it.
"I have to do it, I have to beat Brock Lesnar, I have to challenge Brock, he has the title that I never lost, and if I’m any sort of a man, I need to be a man and stand up to this guy. I ain’t afraid of him. I’m not gonna enjoy getting taken to Suplex City but I will enjoy that I am stood across the ring from Brock Lesnar saying, I ain’t afraid of you man, I’m gonna take you on….The match between Finn Balor and Brock Lesnar is probably the most interesting match the WWE hasn’t seen yet … I don’t know how he feels about me but I ain’t afraid of Brock Lesnar and i’m not gonna enjoy it [the match], but I ain’t scared of you!"
The Beast vs. The Demon is a dream match but one which doesn't appear to be on the cards as of right now due to Braun Strowman's push. It could happen somewhere down the line, though, and WWE must realise that regardless of whether or not it features the title, it would be a match that could make them a whole lot of money. We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed.
