Former WWE Champion Edge Is Full Of Praise For NXT Superstar The Velveteen Dream
The Velveteen Dream and Aleister Black brought the house down during their match at the NXT Takeover: WarGames event, and Dream's performance has got a lot of people talking - including WWE Hal of Famer, Edge.
The Velveteen Dream's performance at the recent NXT Takeover: WarGames event has come in for a lot of praise and got the young Superstar noticed by a lot of people that may not have been aware of him up until that point.
Dream, real name Patrick Clark Jr., has a gimmick that many feel will get him over as a huge heel star, and the fact that he has come so far after only 3 years in the business is also a huge plus for the 22-year-old.
Now, Clarke can add a former WWE champion and Hall of Famer to the list of people that see big things in his future. During the latest edition of the Edge and Christian podcast, the "Rated R Superstar" had the following to say:
"I hadn't seen much of Velveteen Dream but I watched him and Aleister Black. That kid's been working 3 years, for 3 years to be where he's at is incredible. He's found a character, he's fully committed to it. It's parts Rick Rude, it's part Prince and it's fun. I really enjoyed that. He's going to be a player, it was really fun to watch. It was a fun match and I thought there were a lot of cool false finishes and like I said for 3 years in or whatever, he's going to be a good one."
Many people feel that The Velveteen Dream gimmick would be wasted on the main roster, but let's hope he has a long run on NXT before we find out.
