Not too long ago, Bray Wyatt vowed to face whoever walked out of Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley at Elimination Chamber the victor. We've since heard that when The Beast refused to work a program with Wyatt heading into WrestleMania, the finish was changed, thereby leading to Lashley being chosen as the former Fiend's new rival.
That kicked off in earnest both on RAW and SmackDown, but Wyatt's recent disappearance has sent the internet into a frenzy, with unfounded claims of creative differences, injuries, and more.
Lashley has since shared a video on social media suggesting he's looking for a new opponent, though the All-Mighty has also been M.I.A. from television lately. Now, we have an update courtesy of PWI Elite, and it doesn't sound particularly promising for those of you hoping to see Wyatt at the Show of Shows.
While he was originally scheduled to be part of the final SmackDown heading into WrestleMania, they no longer know whether that's happening and reveal that Bo Dallas - who is thought to be portraying Uncle Howdy - has also been sent home. There's also no update on Alexa Bliss' current status.
During the latest episode of SmackDown, Wyatt's logo was flashed up on screen behind LA Knight, so we're guessing nothing nefarious is happening. Creative plans may have simply changed, with some sort of surprise planned to finally do something big with Wyatt on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
For what it's worth, Dave Meltzer believes he may be dealing with an undisclosed illness or physical issue, so that too may have derailed WWE's plans.
Since Wyatt returned to the company, a slow-burn approach has been taken to revealing what's happening with him and his new allies. WrestleMania would be the perfect place to set up a summer of storytelling revolving around him and his mysterious new family members, so fingers crossed WWE is plotting something.
We'll keep you updated as we learn more.
