Here's Why Roman Reigns Vs. Bobbly Lashley Didn't Main Event EXTREME RULES On Sunday

Heading into Extreme Rules on Sunday, pretty much everyone assumed Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley would main event the show but that spot went to Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins. What led to the change?

On Sunday night, an Intercontinental Championship match main evented a WWE PPV for the first time in seventeen years. However, that wasn't the original plan for Extreme Rules. According to Dave Meltzer, Bobby Lashley vs. Roman Reigns was supposed to close out the show but those plans changed just hours before the show began (which isn't a surprise knowing Vince McMahon).

"I was told midweek it was the main event and then told it was changed the day of the show for reasons having to do with fear of the crowd crapping on it," he revealed in news which really isn't a surprise. It sounds like Vince was indeed the one who made this call so it's good to know he realises that WWE crowds still aren't fully behind Reigns and Pittsburgh WOULD crap on it!

After all, they hijacked the incredible Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler main event with their chants and essentially spoiled it as a result. Needless to say, WWE probably won't be rushing back there...
