Last night's SmackDown ended with a confrontation between Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena, his tag team partner at tonight's Money in the Bank PLE, Logan Paul, and Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso.
When the crowd started showing their support for the recently released R-Truth by chanting "We Want Truth," the heel Cena decided to address the "hypocrites" in attendance head-on.
"You can’t handle the truth!" he shouted in response, shutting them down in what was likely an improvised moment. He'd go on to call them liars and losers.
Whether WWE is taking any of this feedback on board from crowds is hard to say, though we'd imagine they're hoping it will all just go away.
If what happened with CM Punk is any indication, they'd best hope on! WWE rarely walks back on a release, though, we wouldn't be surprised to eventually see the 54-time 24/7 Champion back in a WWE ring.
During a recent edition of his Road Trip After Hours podcast, former WWE General Manager Teddy Long revealed that he's spoken with Truth and shared some insights into where his head is right now.
"I talked to Truth, and he’s happy with it," Long confirmed. "I saw his statement after the release. So here’s how I see it — if Truth is happy, I love it. There’s no need to go back and forth or argue about it. That won’t bring him back. And if you’ve got any sense at all, you can see what’s going on."
"God does things for a reason. This may be the best thing that’s ever happened to him," the legendary professional wrestling personality continued. "What John Laurinaitis did to me back then? That was the best thing that could’ve happened. Same thing here. Now [R-Truth] is free."
