Lacey Evans Turns Heel And Attacks Naomi After Losing Karaoke Competition On SMACKDOWN

It seems WWE finally realized that Lacey Evans was never going to get over as a babyface, as the Sassy Southern Belle turned heel and attacked Naomi from behind during this week's episode of SmackDown...

Yes, the most noteworthy thing to happen on this week's episode of SmackDown was a mid-card heel turn.

After working as a face for the past few months and gaining very little traction, Lacey Evans returned to her heel roots last night after losing a karaoke competition and attacking the winner, Naomi, from behind. This led to an impromptu match which ended in a no contest.

Evans has come under fire for still being a bit green in the ring (somewhat unfairly, in our view), but there's no denying that her Sassy Southern Belle persona generated a lot of heat. WWE tried to capitalize on the fact that Lacey is an armed forces veteran by making her a good guy, but it didn't really take, and her promos only seemed to make her more unpopular.

Hopefully this turn will lead to a renewed push for the former NXT Superstar, because she has a lot of potential as a top heel in the women's division.

You can check out the karaoke segment below... if you dare.
