Former World Heavyweight Champion and recent Hall of Fame inductee Mark Henry has never shied away from sharing his thoughts on the racist comments made by disgraced former WWE Superstar Hulk Hogan but now that he's been forgiven, how does the World's Strongest Man feel about the fact he's been reinstated? Well, they make for extremely interesting reading!
"I think that [Hogan’s return is] good in a lot of ways because there’s always a learnable moment. It teaches forgiveness. It teaches that we can step up from adversity. It shows that in a time where there is so much racial divide with government and different social groups that there are some people who have an affinity and care and wanna redeem themselves. I hope that he can do that.
"He is trying his best to clear that up. Some people will say well, he’s missing those big checks and he wants to rectify that situation. That’s always a big factor and we want to keep our buying power up but I don’t think that’s the case with him. If he did some appearances where he helped raise money to go to some of these organizations that need help in the inner cities and urban sectors then I think that people will be less likely to think that it’s all a ploy for him to make more money."
As for what the black members of the locker room think about Hogan's return to WWE, Henry added: "It’s 50/50. I talked to guys that were like ‘the hell with him.’ I had guys that were like ‘you know what man if he is willing to make a change and try to help out and go and speak up and be a part of the answer rather than a part of the problem then it’s all good.'"
It's easy to see why Hogan coming back may have divided the locker room but WWE will always do what they think is best for business and that clearly included forgiving the Hulkster...
