Last week, Vince McMahon was hit by a lawsuit which saw him facing a seemingly endless list of sexual abuse and misconduct allegations. Shockingly, WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar ended up being caught in that and, as a result, WWE pulled him from Saturday night's Royal Rumble PLE.
Lesnar is accused of signing a new deal with WWE in exchange, at least partly, for a sexual encounter with the woman who filed this suit. He's alleged to have requested a video of her urinating but cancelled their meeting due to travel issues.
On Sunday, we learned that Bron Breakker was Lesnar's replacement in the Rumble match and this has led to a series of changes heading into WrestleMania.
According to Dave Meltzer, "The way it was explained to me is that it involves the creative plans for Brock Lesnar and a domino effect when the decision was made at the last minute to not have Lesnar on the show due to the lawsuit."
"Lesnar's planned creative last night was filled by Bron Breakker. Pretty much his point of entry, eliminations and how he was eliminated were all planned for Lesnar. The Lesnar creative which at this point he's not going to be involved with unless they decide they would bring him back, was Lesnar vs. Dominik Mysterio in Australia and Lesnar vs. Gunther (I don't know factually an IC title match but one would expect) at WrestleMania."
He concluded by adding, "Whether Bron Breakker gets those matches is not clear yet."
It now looks unlikely that The Beast will be part of WrestleMania and the domino effect is bound to be significant. However, bad news for Brock may be very good news for Breakker and he could end up with high-profile matches at both Elimination Chamber and the Showcase of the Immortals.
While Lesnar's role in McMahon's alleged misconduct is minimal, it would not be a good look for WWE to put him front and centre when he's been dragged into this undeniably messy situation.
Meltzer adds that he still expects Iyo Sky vs. Bayley for the Women's Championship, Rhea Ripley vs. Becky Lynch for the Women's World Championship, Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship, and Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to take place at WrestleMania.
However, The Rock vs. Reigns is now expected to happen "later," according to Meltzer. Stay tuned for updates!
