WWE made another round of NXT 2.0 cuts last week, and there are already rumblings that main roster talent could be next. However, one Superstar who hasn't been given his marching orders is somebody who actually wants to go: Roderick Strong.
According to Fightful, he's asked for his release "multiple times" in recent months, though a name change has been pitched for him along with various other creative plans. Strong has opposed the former, and after six years in NXT, it's hard to imagine the 38-year-old will ever be on RAW or SmackDown.
WWE's main concern may be where Strong will go; his Undisputed Era teammates, Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O'Reilly, are now part of AEW, as is his wife, Marina Shafir.
In other news, some noteworthy names from AEW have also been released. The company doesn't tend to officially announce those, and if recent comments from talent are any indication, AEW President Tony Khan has a habit of ghosting those he doesn't intend to sign to a new contact.
Regardless, looking at AEW's official website, Dark Order member Stu Grayson is no longer with the company while, as expected, Joey Janela and Marko Stunt's deals have also quietly concluded.
We don't expect to see them in WWE, but will keep you updated as we learn more.
