The RAW after WrestleMania kicked off with Cody Rhodes demanding a rematch against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The Head of the Table refused, but we were promised a tag team match pitting Rhodes against Reigns and Solo Sikoa.
However, Paul Heyman made it clear that whoever Rhodes chooses must have competed at WrestleMania and accept that, by being Cody's partner, they would never be allowed to challenge Reigns for his title.
Brock Lesnar answered the call because he's already been forbidden from squaring off against his old foe and the stage was set for one of the biggest main events in RAW's history. Unfortunately, it never happened, as Lesnar immediately attacked Rhodes. Reigns and Sikoa made their exit, while The Beast dropped the fan-favourite babyface with multiple F5s.
He also attacked Rhodes at the ringside area and F5'd him through the announce table and then back in the ring on the steel steps. Lesnar followed that with a series of brutal chair shots and eventually made his exit, standing on the ramp and giving Rhodes two middle fingers.
With that, Lesnar is once again a heel and Rhodes is presumably taking some time off. We're assuming the former AEW star will feud with The Beast in the months ahead, presumably meaning Reigns will get a new challenger (though it's hard to say who's left at this point).
It's a shame to see Rhodes' quest for the title end here and we can only hope the plan is for him to eventually go after Reigns again and win that championship. He's WWE's hottest babyface right now and the company runs the risk of killing his momentum with this rivalry.
