RING OF HONOR's Parent Company Could Make WWE's Life Very Hard After Canceled MSG Show

Thanks to Cody Rhodes, the Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega, Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling's working relationship has helped make both companies a very real threat to WWE. Clearly feeling the heat, Vince McMahon's company recently expressed its displeasure to MSG that Ring of Honor had booked a show there over WrestleMania weekend and it was swiftly cancelled.

Sinclair Broadcasting is understandably furious and Dave Meltzer believes they could now fire back not only with legal actions but by making WWE's life very difficult in a big way moving forward.

As you may now, WWE looks set to bring SmackDown Live to Fox in 2019 in a $1 billion deal which is obviously a very big deal for the company. However, Sinclair owns more than 40 Fox affiliates and that means they could opt to preempt the show with local programming, something which would hurt ratings and give them the chance to get some payback for what happened with this MSG show.

Meltzer notes that this would be the "most drastic step" in escalating things but it's not beyond the realm of possibility and it's going to be very interesting seeing how things play out from here.
