After Naomi walked away with the Women's Money in the Bank briefcase, the men's match just took place at WWE's Money in the Bank PLE, and it was a bout with plenty of big talking points.
Solo Sikoa, LA Knight, Penta, Seth Rollins, Andrade, and El Grande Americano went to war to try and get their hands on the briefcase. As the match began, Rollins was the target of everyone's frustrations after attacking them alongside Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed on SmackDown the night before.
With Andrade and Penta in the match, there were some early high spots, and El Grande was first to attempt climbing the ladder (which Solo put a quick end to before clashing with Knight).
Three ladders were eventually set up in the ring, with all six men exchanging blows on them. It came down to Solo and Rollins, but the Visionary gained the advantage and used the ladder to take out the former Bloodline leader. Penta suplexed Rollins through a ladder, and the fight continued as everyone repeatedly tried to get their hands on the briefcase.
Fans lost their minds when Penta hit Andrade with a Mexican Destroyer on top of a ladder, but Solo slowed the fan favourite's momentum. El Grande hit a series of German Suplexes, and pulled out a massive "Fireball" ladder (don't get too excited; it was just covered in more sponsor logos, not set alight).
As Rollins and Penta battled on the ladder, El Grande put the metal plate inside his mask and headbutted the latter before being taken out by Knight. Andrade had his hands on the briefcase, but Rollins called out Breakker and Reed for an assist.
Breakker speared El Grande and Knight, as Reed took out Andrade and Penta. Only Solo was left, but he was saved by Jacob Fatu and JC Mateo. Fatu somehow Samoan Dropped Reed, and got Solo in the ring so he could climb the ladder...only to turn on him! Remember, he overheard what Solo said about him on SmackDown and finally declared, "I hate you, Solo!"
Rollins took advantage, only to be thwarted by Knight. He fought back and took out the babyface with a Curb Stomp, unhooking the briefcase to become Mr. Money in the Bank for the second time in his career (which, if we're being honest, was the expected outcome).
We're sure it hasn't escaped your attention that this match took place before the main event featured Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena and World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso. Will we get a cash-in attempt? The PLE is still taking place as we write this, so keep refreshing for updates!
