SMACKDOWN LIVE General Manager Paige Discusses Her Career-Ending Injury For The First Time

Paige was recently announced as the new GM of SmackDown LIVE, but it doesn't look like the 25 year-old will ever be returning to in-ring action. Now, the British star discusses her injury for the first time.

Back in January, rumors swirled that Paige's in-ring career might be over following a stiff kick to the back of the head during a recent match with Sasha Banks. Though this wasn't confirmed until recently, it unfortunately does appear to be the case.

Paige announced her retirement in a segment on Raw a few weeks ago, but then showed up on SmackDown LIVE as the show's new GM. Though it's obviously a massive shame that the talented Superstar had to cut her wrestling career short at just 25, she seems very positive about her new role.

Here's what Paige recently discussed incident and how she felt afterwards while appearing on E & C’s Pod of Awesomeness.

“When the accident happened in the ring, I lost all feeling in my legs and my arms. It was literally the most terrifying experience of my life and I never wish that upon anyone. It was so scary. I literally thought, ‘I’m done. I’m going to be in a wheelchair now. This is it. I pushed myself too much.’ I really did. I feel like I pushed myself too hard to the point where my body was done.”

Paige also responded to the fans who keep asking of there's any chance she could return to the ring for one more big match. “No guys, my doctor said maybe in 15-20 years time; but, I don’t think I want to wrestle in 15-20 years time.”
