SMACKDOWN LIVE Ratings Increased Slightly Following The "Wild Card" Rule Introduction

On Monday's episode of RAW, Vince McMahon introduced the "Wild Card" rule that allows Superstars from their respective brands to appear on the rival show. So, what difference did that make to SmackDown Live?

There was more good news for WWE on Tuesday night because SmackDown Live's ratings increased by around 100,000 viewers from the previous episode. It still only managed to hit 1,931,000 viewers but that's a decent increase and a possible sign that the "Wild Card" rule has intrigued fans.

The show kicked off with RAW Superstars Sami Zayn and AJ Styles confronting WWE Champion Kofi Kingston and culminated in a Triple Threat match for the title.

It's still not good that this was only the third time this year SmackDown Live has failed to draw 2 million viewers. Unfortunately for WWE, next week's episodes of both RAW and the blue brand will be pre-taped in London, England so ratings will inevitably take a hit...unless something huge happens like Styles' WWE title win over Jinder Mahal in 2017.
