Stone Cold Steve Austin Reflects On Never Getting The Chance To Wrestle Hulk Hogan
Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan were both in WWE at the same time but the two WWE Hall of Famers never ended up going one on one in the squared circle. Here, the Texas Rattlesnake reflects on why he regrets that.
Stone Cold Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan are two of the most iconic figures in wrestling history and the fact they never competed against each other in a match is massively disappointing. After all, while The Rock's match with The Hulkster was a big deal, it's easy enough to imagine him going toe to toe with the Texas Rattlesnake being even bigger, better, and considerably more epic!
Sadly, it's now never going to happen. Austin has retired, Hogan is pretty long in the tooth and not on speaking terms with WWE, and the moment has passed. However, reflecting on any regrets he might have about his career in a recent edition of his podcast, Stone Cold revealed why the match never happened and how he feels about never getting a chance to take him on in the ring.
"Right off jump street, if I went back to recent history, I've got to say Hulk Hogan because [he was] one of the biggest draws in the history of the [professional wrestling] business and everybody thought that match between 'Stone Cold' and Hulk Hogan should've happened a couple of years back. It never did just for whatever reason and I didn't feel like stepping back in the ring and I think Hogan was ready to go. I wasn't and so I never got a chance to wrestle the guy and it would have been fun to be in the ring with him."
Stone Cold vs. Hulk Hogan would have been a dream match for sure but we can now only imagine what that would have been like. The two WWE Hall of Famers did cross paths at WrestleMania a few years back but that was to share a beer, not lock horns! Do you guys wish that these two had fought each other?
