Following the recent announcement of the family film The Main Event, Netflix and WWE Studios have announced their next project - The Big Show Show.

Starring superstar Paul Wight, aka The Big Show, The Big Show Show is a half-hour, multi-cam comedy series. The show's premise seems pretty in line with other sitcom family series, though it'll be interesting to see if it can avoid the bumbling dad trope so often seen.

The logline reads:

When the teenage daughter of The Big Show, a retired world-famous WWE Superstar comes to live with him, his wife and two other daughters, he quickly becomes outnumbered and outsmarted. Despite being 7 feet tall and weighing 400 pounds, he is no longer the center of attention.

The Big Show Show will star Paul Wight (Fighting with My Family, WWE), Allison Munn (Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn),Reylynn Caster (American Housewife), Juliet Donenfeld (Pete the Cat), and Lily Brooks O'Briant (The Tick).  Josh Bycel (Happy Endings, Scrubs, American Dad) and Jason Berger (Champaign ILL, Happy Endings, LA to Vegas) will serve as executive producers and showrunners with Susan Levison and Richard Lowell also serving as executive producers for WWE Studios.

The Big Show Show is the latest project to come from the recently announced partnership between Netflix and WWE, and joins a growing list of comedy series featuring kids and teens and made for families from the streaming giant. With Netflix losing so many beloved series, like The Office and Friends (not to mention all of its Disney content), its ability to create original content is now more important than ever.

No premiere date has been announced for The Big Show Show, but production on the 10-episode series will begin on August 9 in Los Angeles.
