During this past Thursday's WrestleMania Kickoff, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson appeared to break bad when he allied himself with WWE Champion Roman Reigns and slapped Cody Rhodes in the face.
That came hours after he dubbed the American Nightmare's fans "Cody Crybabies" and, as things stand, it looks like the villainous Hollywood Rock is on the cusp of returning. Now, the Brahma Bull has sent a stern warning to Rhodes on Instagram.
"I was born into this crazy world and I love every second of it," he started. "It’s been decades since pro wrestling has been buzzing like this for WrestleMania and this has become rare air that we’re all breathing, and it’s very [frick]ing cool [and] exciting for us, as wrestlers, our company and most importantly - all our fans."
"Your hero f***ed around and he found out quick what happens when you talk about our family with disrespect," Johnson added. "Lines crossed and blurred - bring it. We don’t toe the mark for no one. Road to Wrestlemania begins..."
We wouldn't say it's been decades since there was this much buzz for WrestleMania, but there's no denying this year's event is generating a tonne of hype among fans.
Now, love or hate The Rock as a character or celebrity, one right-wing nut recently made some pretty disgusting claims about his charity work which the wrestler and actor debunked in a firmly worded X post.
We'd strongly recommend reading the whole thing, but of note for WWE fans is the fact Johnson has confirmed he turned heel during that recent confrontation with Rhodes.
"I turned 'heel' - wrestling parlance for bad guy," he explains. "I'm playing it up with our crowd as they boo. It's what we do in our WWE universe, and we all love every second of it." Honestly, regardless of what really happened and whether the fan reaction led to a change in plans, The Rock as a heel is incredibly exciting.
Rhodes is expected to be at RAW tomorrow night and both Reigns and Johnson have been confirmed for Friday's SmackDown. Stay tuned!
