This Week's SMACKDOWN LIVE Was The Lowest Rated Episode Of 2018

Tuesday's episode of SmackDown Live was a rather underwhelming affair and that was reflected in the ratings because it's been revealed today that the latest instalment was the lowest rated of the entire year.

WWE didn't have to worry about competition from the NBA or NHL this weekend and the company no longer even has to worry about Roseanne on ABC! Despite all of that, this week's instalment of SmackDown Live ended up drawing the lowest rating of the year which obviously isn't good news.

In total, the Tuesday night show was watched by 2.138 million viewers. Aside from election night in November 2016, this was the least watched episode of SmackDown Live since it moved to Tuesdays.

RAW's numbers weren't much better because that only drew 2.52 million viewers, one if its lowest rated episodes in history. However, that was up against the NBA and NHL Playoffs. It's hard to say what's responsible for this decline but both shows could do with some fresh feuds and it was baffling to see names like AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Daniel Bryan, and Jeff Hardy left off the show this week.

The huge gap between PPVs could be a contributing factor and it will be interesting seeing how WWE responds to this. What did you think of SmackDown Live? Let us know your thoughts below.
