There were rumblings it might happen and Saturday night's Bad Blood PLE did indeed conclude with the return of the "Final Boss," Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
He stared down both Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, leaving it unclear what his intentions are and who he plans to target in the midst of Solo Sikoa naming himself Tribal Chief and leading the new Bloodline.
Talking at the post-show Bad Blood press conference, WWE CCO Paul "Triple H" Levesque shared his take on The Rock's appearance.
"You have to be the biggest star in the world to be able to hit your music, walk out, blow the roof off the place, and 'I'm out,' and it's epic, and it was, and I'm thankful to him with everything he's got going on in his career and his life, to never have looked away from what brought him to the dance and what his roots are."
"It's in his DNA, it's in his blood, it's who he is, and anytime that we're in a place that he can take 30 seconds out of his incredible schedule to come back and feel that electricity that you can only get in WWE, he does it, and I'm thrilled for that, and thankful to him for that," The Game continued before being asked when we might see The Rock again.
"You saw that the last time "The Final Boss" was here that whether we were on the air, off the air, still rolling cameras, not rolling cameras, he kinda does what he wants to do when he wants to do it," Triple H teased, "When you have a moment like that with The Rock it's wonderful to see, and where does it go from here?"
"God, it can go anywhere and that's the beauty of it. When we get done tonight you kind of tell all these epic stories that land you in one place and then you go 'Oh yeah, but now what? That's really cool. I don't know where it goes.' So, that's where we want everybody to be."
Bad Blood also featured a surprise appearance from WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg. He hasn't shied away from expressing frustration and disappointment with how Vince McMahon treated him during his previous run and fans have been wondering whether this could lead to one more match.
"Atlanta loves Bill Goldberg, and that's why he was here tonight with his wife and his son, always going to get a huge reaction here, enjoying the show," he started. "Things get said. I can tell you that when Bill came back, he was not too happy with Gunther and...we'll see. We'll see."
"The further you go, time catches up with all of us, and so, the further you go, those talks get further and further away from reality. But I don't know. I saw Bill earlier in the day and it was great; and I saw Bill later in the day and there was a different look on his face with a spark in his eye, so I would say: never say never."
Triple H has also taken to social media to address Kevin Owens' attack on Cody Rhodes. As expected, this is being treated like a legitimate fight rather than an angle and we're bound to see this continue to play out on SmackDown this Friday.
