Apparently, TJP didn’t ask for his release from the company. According to Mike Johnson of
PWInsider, his sources have confirmed that it was WWE's decision to release the 205 Live star, unlike Tye Dillinger and Hideo Itami, who asked to be let go from their contracts.
This is a somewhat surprising move given the nature of the
company’s statement on TJP’s release, which simply says that they have come to terms with the release of the now former 205 Live star. They didn’t wish him the best in his future endeavors, which fueled some speculation that TJP asked for his exit from WWE.
TJP commented on his release via Twitter, writing,
"Thanks for giving me a chance and letting me play for the team I grew up watching."
The former Cruiserweight Champion is indeed talented enough to be a main player on any promotion’s roster (Just like Dillinger and Itami), so hopefully TJP finds somewhere that will give him a true chance to shine.
