US Championship Match Between Kevin Owens And AJ Styles Seemingly Pulled From WWE BATTLEGROUND PPV

AJ Styles recently pinned Kevin Owens at a live event to win the US Championship, but the pair were due to have a rematch as the upcoming WWE Battleground PPV until the bout was seemingly removed from the card.

It looks like Kevin Owens won't be getting a US Championship rematch at WWE Battleground after all.

This past Tuesday on Smackdown Live, it was announced that KO would defend his title against AJ Styles at the upcoming PPV, but when The Phenomenal One defeated Owens for the strap at Friday night's live event in Madison Square Garden, the match was removed from the Battleground lineup page along with the Tweet promoting it.

It's not clear why this is, although there are rumors that Owens may have suffered an injury during Friday's match. However, he did wrestle in a triple threat match against AJ Styles and Baron Corbin at last night's WWE live event in Corpus Christi, so even if he is hurt it obviously can't be that series.

We'll update once we know more, but it looks like another #1 contender is going to be needed for Styles' newly won belt.
