As you're no doubt well aware, WWE has signed a big money deal with FOX to bring
SmackDown Live to the network this fall. While we've heard that the blue brand will be heavily promoted there (including during NFL season), we still don't know how exactly things will work once it's moved to Friday nights.
Well, during a recent interview, WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon touched on a number of topics but made a point of shedding some light on how FOX intends to handle WWE.
"WWE talent will be appearing on [Fox] programming," he revealed. "It’s going to be a totally integrated approach. We’ve never had a platform like this in terms of promotion. Fox is going to go all-in, and they’re great promoters. NBCU is going to step up as well to the equivalent of what Fox is going to do."
In other words, it sounds like we can expect WWE Superstars to start appearing on TV shows on both networks similar to what happened a number of years ago when you'd see wrestlers making cameo appearances on the likes of Smallville and even Star Trek!
The only question now is, will any of this help combat the company's recent ratings woes?
