Last year, WWE introduced a new twist to the annual Crown Jewel premium live event with the Crown Jewel Championship concept, which borrowed heavily from the previous setup of Survivor Series that used to see champions between Raw and SmackDown go head-to-head to determine the overall better brand.
While those used to pair the men's and women's world champions, midcard champions, and tag team champions against each other with nothing on the line other than bragging rights and a point for each Superstar's respective brand in the overall tally, the Crown Jewel Championship was created as a physical belt and designated just between the top world champions of those brands. It is a ceremonial belt that does not get defended or even seen outside of this week, but is nevertheless a nice feather in the cap of anyone's career and something that can really set them apart as a top star of their era.
Today, at the 2025 WWE Crown Jewel event (full results here), current Undisputed WWE Champion and last year's men's Crown Jewel winner Cody Rhodes was up against Raw's world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins, while WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton faced Raw's women's world champion Stephanie Vaquer.
The first of those bouts was the Women's Crown Jewel Championship match, wherein Vaquer and Stratton had an even contest proving on any given night, either one of them could have won. Stratton walked in with a win from SmackDown, scoring a pin on SmackDown in a tag team match where she and Vaquer had defeated Kiana James and the Women's United States Champion Giulia, but failed to hit her Prettiest Moonsault Ever finisher as Vaquer managed to get her knees up and block it. Vaquer followed up with a corkscrew moonsault of her own to score the pin.
In the main event, Seth Rollins was able to finally score a victory over Cody Rhodes, all on his own—but not without some shenanigans.
Paul Heyman had instructed Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed that they should not come out to interfere on Seth's behalf, even if he were to be begging them to do it. Rollins had to win this on his own. He did that, but only after using the Rolex watch that Rhodes had gifted him from WrestleMania XL.
Rollins struck Rhodes with the watch while the referee was incapacitated and followed it up with a stomp, followed by a "super stomp" off the ropes for the victory.
