When John Cena returns to WWE later tonight, it will be as a free agent who is able to hop between RAW and SmackDown Live. It's hardly a surprise that that's now the case with the leader of the Cenation, especially as RAW is struggling in terms of ratings and he's in desperate need of some fresh feuds (Cena vs. Finn Balor, anyone?).
However, in a new interview, WWE Champion Jinder Mahal has revealed that he's interested in taking on Cena upon his return. When you think about it, there's no getting around the fact that's a feud which would be a lot of fun given Cena's patriotic nature and the anti-American stance of the modern day Maharajah who represents his home of India.
"Right now, I am focusing on my match with Randy Orton as I want to retain my title," Mahal teased. "But I think John Cena is my biggest competitor because for a long time, John Cena has been the face of the WWE and he won't give up this title anytime soon. So, it would be challenging."
As for him being portrayed as a representative of India, Mahal added: "I feel proud to represent India and first of all, Khali is like my big brother and a good friend. He represented India so well and I want to do the same thing. I want to show that India has world-class athletes who are the best. I surely feel the pressure and I feel this pressure only drives, it will enable me to retain my title."
We'll find out whether or not Mahal is able to retain his title when he squares off with Orton in a Punjabi Prison Match at WWE Battleground. For now, share your thoughts on these remarks in the comments section down below.
