For those unaware, WWE EVOLVE airs every Wednesday night on Tubi and YouTube at 8 p.m. ET and features some of World Wrestling Entertainment's minor league talent who mostly haven't yet been officially signed to the NXT roster.
Since it's premiere episode, these wrestlers have just been facing off in random matches or storylines to showcase themselves and get their characters over, but without any sort of specific goal in mind.
That's all about to change, as Prime Minister Stevie Turner announced on tonight's episode that the purple brand officially has its two top titles, unveiling the Men's WWE EVOLVE Championship and the WWE EVOLVE Women's Championship belts.
As expected for their designs, they keep WWE's trend of the women's title having a white strap with the men's having a black backing. Both center plates are exactly the same with the WWE EVOLVE logo front and center, with the only difference being the word "women's" added to the top of that belt. Both titles also have the trademark side plates that can be removed and swapped out for a new champion, though there's always a chance they stay the default WWE logos as the company may not want to invest the money in creating new plates for talent that is still below the NXT level.
Nevertheless, this is the best indicator of someone being set up for a spot on NXT, as anyone who wins the EVOLVE Championships will undoubtedly be someone WWE is invested in and sees a bright future for. As Lexis King referred to EVOLVE as a "portal" to NXT, these could very well be considered the keys to that portal.
As far as who will be competing for those titles, not all those names have been announced.
Turner stated that in three weeks, there will be a Fatal 4-Way match for the women's title with Kali Armstrong, Kendal Grey, and Wendy Choo filling three of those spots. The fourth has yet to be determined, as she's still looking for someone to impress her. Zayda Steel is looking to be that person, but Nikkita Lyons is also within contention after beating Grey this week.
A Fatal 4-Way match will also determine the men's champion, which will take place the week after that. So far, the only announced name is "Super" Sean Legacy, who got into it with Lexis King and will face him next week.
Before Turner could announce any of the other three competitors, Keanu Carver and Harlem Lewis sparked a brawl. However, it's safe to assume both of them will be filling two spots, given how prominently they've been featured as of late. The fourth spot could very well go to Lexis King, or almost anyone, save for Gallus and Javier Bernal, who were released by WWE despite having matches that will air on next week's episode.
