Bray Wyatt tragically passed away earlier this year, and the former WWE Champion's death sent shockwaves through the pro wrestling world. Even months later, tributes continue to pour in, with WWE Hall of Famer Kane the latest to look back on the Eater of Worlds' legacy.
He and Wyatt squared off on countless occasions; in fact, they even went to war in a "Ring of Fire" match, and in one of his last in-ring appearances for WWE, the Big Red Machine was taken out by The Fiend.
"Yeah, that's tragic. He was just a great guy," Kane tells Sportskeeda. "You know, backstage Bray was always joking. He was one of those people who never had a bad day. Of course, he had his first big storyline in WWE with Kane accumulating in an Infernal Match at the Staples Center. Just again, just a tremendous performer and it is just very sad."
"I mean, that whole Fiend character and everything...he was, you know, he understood that character and when the Wyatt Family was there and I remember they had the fireflies...I remember one time I was leaving the arena in Denver and the whole arena was singing along with the entrance and everything. It's very sad, taken well before his time."
It was a colossal loss, that's for sure, and we're anticipating Wyatt being among those inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame next April.
In the same interview, Kane also shared his thoughts on Endeavor's recent acquisition of WWE. "It was surprising to me too, you know, but Vince in the end, Vince always does what's best for business," he says. "So I think that from a big picture perspective, I think it's a great thing for everybody and it'll benefit all of our fans, and in the end, that's what it's all about."
As for what he's thought about the WWE product with Triple H calling the shots from a creative standpoint, the Devil's Favourite Demon added, "I’m a huge fan. Triple H has the best wrestling mind of anybody that I've ever seen, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what the product does moving forward."
Fans agree that WWE has improved greatly under The Game's watch, so we're not surprised to hear Kane give him his seal of approval. Like many older wrestlers, he's fiercely loyal to Vince McMahon, but everyone can see how much better RAW, SmackDown, and NXT are since the WWE Chairman was ousted from his role as head of WWE Creative.
