When Bray Wyatt returned to WWE as The Fiend, it was one of the coolest, most intriguing gimmicks to come our way in quite some time. Unfortunately, as time passed, a series of baffling and downright awful creative decisions essentially ruined the character and killed Wyatt's momentum.
Wyatt was eventually released by WWE, a perplexing decision that left pro wrestling fans scratching their heads. We've since heard that former CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon came to strongly dislike Bray after he pushed back against bad creative decisions, and WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg laid the blame at the feet of the disgraced executive in a new interview.
"Truth be told, I think he'll be back," he said on Keepin' It 100 with Konnan (via WrestlingNews.co) when asked about Wyatt's possible WWE future. "I think we'll see him a third time. It did get a little wacky. Right, wrong, or indifferent, I'll probably get some heat for saying this, but I just feel like sometimes, Vince lets the writers do their thing, it kind of gets successful, and then he feels like he wants to play with it too."
"Then you just go like, 'Okay, well, let's stay with this because we don't want to just say this sucks, we want to quit or whatever, so let's try to stay with this.' Next thing, you know, you're doing some of the crap he was doing later in [Bray's] tenure."
In the same interview, Road Dogg reflected on having to write RAW's second and third hours while the first was on the air and it's clear he doesn't miss being part of the WWE creative team!
Only time will tell whether he's right about Wyatt, though there have already been rumblings about him returning to the company now Triple H is calling the shots. We'd love to see it happen, and if and when it does, at least he won't be held back by Vince's bizarre and often nonsensical ideas.
