WWE Has Filed A New NWO Trademark - Could The Faction Return To Television?

WWE has filed a number of new trademarks but the fact that NWO is among them and listed for wrestling purposes could point to a return for the faction...well, maybe! Hit the jump for everything we know so far.

As is often the case, WWE filed a number of new trademarks in May many of which were for merchandise purposes. Those include Woken Warrior, Skull King, Immortals, and The Ultimate Warrior's symbol among others but there's one which has got everyone talking. That's the fact the company has filed a trademark for the NWO, the iconic WCW faction who made history in the 2000s.

While a watered-down version of the group later appeared in WWE (once again consisting of Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash), this new trademark is very interesting and not just for merchandising. Instead, it's for wrestling purposes too and while the company could just be safeguarding itself, it's hard not to wonder if there's a chance that the group could return to WWE.

It's obviously highly unlikely that the original group will start tearing up WWE but there are plenty of other Superstars who could be used to form the group and it's about time we get another dominant three-man faction after The Shield reunion crashed and burned last year. As always, we'll be sure to keep you updated but stay tuned for any additional updates on this when we have them.
