The New York Post recently published an article on WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins, in which it makes the case that The Architect is the “star WWE has been missing”.
The article points to Rollins being the “total package”, possessing an in-ring quality that prefers logic, psychology and storytelling over moves like the Five Knuckle Shuffle, the Superman Punch or even the Yes Kick which are more about entertainment than winning the match.
The article also commends Rollins’ mic skills, stating that his promos feel natural, and claims only superstars such as Kevin Owens, Dean Ambrose or AJ Styles can match The Kingslayer’s promo ability.
Below is an excerpt from the article:
The reason for Rollins’ success is, unlike so many wrestlers, he is the total package. His in-ring style is athletic, fast-paced, high-risk and logical. Rollins, who was also tapped as the first NXT champion, doesn’t appear to jam in too many moves just because he needs to get his signature maneuvers in. They flow naturally in the match, and that’s when wrestling is a beautiful art to watch.
