WWE Intercontinental Championship Match Made Official For WRESTLEMANIA 33

For the past two years, the Intercontinental Championship has been defended in a multi-person ladder match. That won't be the case at this year's WrestleMania as Dean Ambrose has just the one opponent...

WrestleMania is just two weeks away, and the card is now made up of twelve announced matches following last night's SmackDown Live. During the show, AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon was made official as was an Intercontinental Championship match which will see Dean Ambrose defend his title against Baron Corbin.

This has been on the cards for weeks now, but it's still somewhat surprising. For the past two years, the show has opened with a multi-person ladder match with the title on the line, but considering the fact SmackDown Live has such a small roster, it's hard to imagine who could have joined Ambrose in that. However, with both the United States and Cruiserweight Championships also defended in singles matches, this year's WrestleMania doesn't have much in the way of gimmick matches!

In fact, the only one we have so far is Triple H vs. Seth Rollins in an unsanctioned match, though that's yet to be made 100% official.

The big question now is whether or not this Intercontinental Championship match will make it on to the main card. It feels like a pre-show match, but if WWE is serious about giving Corbin a push, chances are he'll win the title here and wind up doing so on the show itself. What do you guys think? Let us know in the usual place.
