Aleister Black has talked openly about some of his frustrations in WWE, so it wasn't really overly surprising when reports surfaced suggesting he plans to sign with AEW.
The company seems like a natural fit for Black, and it's hard to imagine him wanting to return to WWE after the past year. Despite what he believes were positive conversations with Vince McMahon, the former NXT Champion spent months at home and returned to feud with Big E...only to be released 10 days later.
Now, PWInsider is reporting that there is talk from executives in WWE about bringing Black back.
The feeling is said to be that his release was a premature decision, and the fact AEW has shown interest in him has only helped intensify those discussions. Keeping him away from the competition appears to be a priority, though it remains to be seen whether WWE reaches out with an offer.
If they do, then Black can expect to be paid less than he was before, but if that's higher than AEW...well, it depends what matters most to him. If it's money, then WWE is perhaps the best choice, but you have to believe he'll get quite a bit more creative fulfilment in AEW.
What do you think Black should do?
