WWE's Roman Reigns experiment has failed. After headlining three WrestleManias it's become clear that fans are never going to love the former WWE Champion and while he has his fair share of fans, Roman is frequently met with more boos than cheers when he's in front of a live crowd. Despite that, he still appears to draw and is likely to remain on top as a result.

Asked in a recent interview whether his character is a babyface or heel, Roman had a very interesting explanation for how he views himself. "To me, I’m neither. If I’m totally off here, then I’m totally off, but I’m the first of my type. I’m the first true
gray area guy...just being what he was born to be." He makes a fair point as he's definitely not in the middle the same way as John Cena.

"I don’t go out there and act crazy and flail around and be a heel," he continued. "I don’t come out there smiling and kissing babies, telling each town it’s my favorite town at the end of the night. I keep it real. Sometimes I’m in a good mood. Sometimes I’m in a bad one. I want my character to be as human as possible, but not just a regular human that you see every single day."

For the foreseeable future, it appears as if Roman will remain exactly where is but it's going to be interesting seeing whether he does do a full on heel turn at some point. Then again, after the way he took down The Undertaker at Wrestlemania, you could argue that it's already happened!
