WWE RAW's Festival Of Friendship Involving Kevin Owens And Chris Jericho Was Inspired By GAME OF THRONES

Remember that awesome Festival of Friendship segment on RAW back in February which saw Kevin Owens betray Chris Jericho and lay an unmerciful bating on his "best friend"? Well, turns out it was inspired by Game of Thrones.

While promoting his new book No Is A Four Letter Word on The Other Guys Podcast recently, Jericho was asked about The FOF and revealed that the HBO show's infamous Red Wedding sequence was the basis for the segment.

"The ‘Red Wedding’ from Game Of Thrones was something that was really resonating, where you have this brilliant, beautiful and fun moment and then it just goes south in such a quick fashion where you can’t believe it. That, to me, was the brilliance of it.”"

Y2J adds that the powers that be weren't actually that pushed on his idea at first, and he had to fight to get it done the way he'd originally envisioned it:

"I stood up for it, even to the point of calling Vince when he was on a plane in the middle of the air and pitching my case, not taking no for an answer, not allowing my vision to be changed.”

And we're very glad he did. Check out the FOF footage below for a reminder of how great it was.
