WWE Reveals THREE Shock Returns During SMACKDOWN As Karrion Kross And Scarlett Find Unlikely New Allies

Ever since Karrion Kross and Scarlett returned to WWE, it's been clear even Triple H has struggled with where to place them on the card. Despite ditching the goofy costume Vince McMahon forced him to wear, Kross' feuds with Drew McIntyre and AJ Styles didn't quite hit the mark and he's been used sparingly since.

There's a huge amount of potential there, however, something which is evident from what we saw in NXT. Now, after weeks of vignettes, it appears WWE is gearing up to make a big change by aligning Kross and Scarlett with The Authors of Pain, Akam and Rezar, and their manager Paul Ellering!

Like Kross, that trio was a big deal in NXT but floundered on the main roster; McMahon actually dropped Ellering from their act altogether, a costly decision which did the formidable tag team no favours.

In the video below, we see Kross use the word "Authors" before an image of the trio flashes up on screen. This has all the makings of an epic stable.

Akam and Rezar were released by WWE in 2020, a move which surprised fans when both men were receiving a push alongside Seth Rollins as part of his stable. Of course, that was derailed when Rezar suffered a torn biceps during a match on RAW; the decision was then taken to remove Akam from TV as WWE management decided it would be better to wait until they could be paired up again.

Unfortunately, they never got the chance and it marked the second time a push for The Authors of Pain failed to pan out. Shortly after arriving on the main roster - minus their NXT manager Paul Ellering - an ill-timed injury led to them quickly disappearing from TV.

During their WWE run, Akam and Rezar won the NXT and RAW Tag Team Championships and were crowned the winners of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic back in 2016. However, they were quietly re-signed by Triple H last year, though this is the first time WWE has acknowledged them in any meaningful way.

We'll see where this is heading as we move into 2024, but it feels like another decision made by Triple H which it's easy to get excited about. Most intriguing is the role Ellering will play in all this and you'll want to keep checking back here for updates as we have them!
