After making his surprise return to WWE last year, it was clear big plans were being put in place for Bray Wyatt. The former Fiend's new faction was teased almost immediately, and we'd later meet the mysterious Uncle Howdy (thought to be Bray's real-life brother Bo Dallas).
Wyatt showcased his new persona at the Royal Rumble when he defeated LA Knight and the idea from there was for him to face Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania.
Unfortunately, he's been sidelined with an unknown illness since March and, in the interim, Alexa Bliss has also taken some time off after falling pregnant with her first child. As a result, whatever WWE once had planned for Wyatt's next faction likely looks much different now.
According to Fightful Select, one very early idea way back in 2020 before Wyatt was released would have seen Mike Bennett and Eric Young align themselves with Bray. It was a Paul Heyman concept, and Bennett was expected to portray Sister Abigail.
That certainly would have been...interesting.
Those plans were obviously scrapped and both wrestlers have also since been released by the company. However, Young - who asked to leave when Vince McMahon returned as WWE Chairman - was still eyed to be part of the new Wyatt Family as late as this past January.
The idea had been for that group to come together after the Show of Shows and, as expected, Bliss was going to be a big part of that as well (hence why WWE spent weeks teasing the possibility on TV).
Whatever is happening, we wish Bray a speedy recovery. It's now been months, and despite him once being at the forefront of WWE's creative plans, there's still no sign of Wyatt and no solid word on when he might step back into the squared circle.
Stay tuned for updates as we have them.
