GiveMeSport is reporting that Roman Reigns is expected to take a "significant break" from WWE following WrestleMania.
While nothing is confirmed at this point, it sounds like the Head of the Table could be absent from the company until SummerSlam, a move that, while upsetting to some, also makes sense.
If Cody Rhodes wins the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the Grandest Stage of Them All, it gives him a good few months to shine and WWE the chance to shift the spotlight from the Bloodline to other stories and Superstars.
Following last night's RAW, all signs point to Roman's family finally turning their back on him, so writing him off television before he returns with a refreshed gimmick and persona would be exciting on a number of levels. It's also worth noting that Reigns signed what was essentially a part-time contract last year, so a Brock Lesnar-style absence isn't shocking.
"I can imagine there's probably a significant break, at least a month even longer, until there's a major show that requires Roman Reigns," the site reports. "You may not see him until SummerSlam though. He'll be away for a little bit."
As you can see below, it's since been clarified that this will only happen if Reigns loses the titles at the Show of Shows.
One thing we are expecting this year is for the titles to be split. Rumour has it Triple H isn't a fan of the Universal Championship and is looking to bring back the World Heavyweight Championship to replace it. This would give RAW and SmackDown their own champions and opens the door to a great deal more storytelling opportunities across both shows.
As always, keep checking back here for updates.
