AEW Beach Break saw lots of movement in the title scenes of All Elite Wrestling, as two title changes went down tonight on AEW Dynamite along with a Women's Casino Gauntlet, and some matches announced for upcoming shows with title implications.
First off, Kyle Fletcher defeated Konosuke Takeshita to win the AEW International Championship with a brainbuster on the top turnbuckle.
As a note for the post-match promo segment, "The Jet" Kevin Knight interrupted a celebration of sorts for Fletcher to talk about his own aspirations, declaring again that he's coming for the AEW World Championship.
In that segment, it was set up that Andrade El Idolo will face Jake Doyle on next week's episode of Dynamite with the understanding that if he wins, he'll get a shot at the AEW National Championship in a future match with Mark Davis, who actually also has a challenge put out to him by "Speedball" Mike Bailey for a title match on this Saturday's AEW Collision.
The Women's Casino Gauntlet match was won by a returning Willow Nightingale, who scored a pinfall over Julia Hart. She'll face Thekla for the AEW Women's World Championship at the upcoming AEW Redemption pay-per-view, taking place July 26th at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Thekla went after Willow following her win, but was taken out by Mercedes Mone, who has a title match against whoever walks out of Redemption with the title, set up for AEW All In. Meanwhile, The Divine Dominion attacked The Sisters of Sin, taking out both Julia Hart and Skye Blue, likely setting up a match for the AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship at Redemption (but that is not yet confirmed).
Finally, Kenny Omega defeated Maxwell Jacob Friedman to win the AEW World Championship in the main event of Beach Break. There had been a stipulation that if Omega would have lost, he never would have been able to challenge for the title again for the rest of his career. While that was the unfortunate fate of Cody Rhodes and "Hangman" Adam Page before him, Omega avoided the hat trick, beating MJF with a little help from Will Ospreay offsetting Friedman's attempt to use the Dynamite Diamond Ring, a low blow, and the title belt for an advantage.
This puts Omega against Ospreay for the world title at All In, with no information at the moment of whether Omega will defend the title at Redemption.
