Are we going to see the first-ever women’s Blood and Guts match?
Interestingly enough, AEW hasn’t had their annual Blood and Guts match and there was some wonder on whether the company would go through 2025 without the classic steel cage match. Jamie Hayter seemingly answered that question on Saturday.
The former AEW Women’s World Champion had her first match back since All Out against her rival Julia Hart and Hayter emerged victorious. However, the Triangle of Madness attacked Hayter. Queen Aminata came down for the save and Hayter grabbed a mic. She’s essentially tired of the B.S and wants to finish this feud once and for all.
"Ladies, don't you dare go anywhere," she said. "I don't know about you, Huntington, but I'm sick of these girls' BS. Now, you're not going to want to miss this, because I had a little epiphany. And I think the only way to solve this is three simple words: Blood and Guts!"
The match hasn’t been confirmed just yet, though it would be surprising if AEW didn’t move forward with it. Blood and Guts usually consists of teams of five, so both sides will need to be fleshed out further before the match is made official. Nevertheless, this will be the first time that a women’s Blood and Guts match takes place.
AEW has included women in more main event roles this past year. Willow Nightingale and Marina Shafir took part in this year’s Anarchy in the Arena match. Toni Storm and Mariah May main evented the Grand Slam Australia show back in February. It should be exciting to see how this match comes together!
It’s not clear if a male version will take place. With the Death Riders still existing then that wouldn’t be a surprise. As of this writing, it’s not known when Blood and Guts will take place or the other participants in the upcoming match. AEW is currently focused on the Dynamite sixth anniversary show Wednesday where it’s a loaded card that features the AEW World Champion in action with The Opps (Samoa Joe and Powerhouse Hobbs) and a TNT title match between Orange Cassidy and Kyle Fletcher.
