Abadon is finally free!

Back in March, it was rumored that Tony Khan opted against re-signing the former AEW star. On May 30, 2025, Abadon confirmed the rumor and that their contract was set to end in June.

“My time with AEW is coming to an end. My contract expires in June and I will not be renewed. The emotions I’m currently trying to manage are incredibly difficult and full of conflict as I reflect on my time there,” Abadon wrote. “My goal is to not let this be it for me, because I love wrestling too much to just stop. I’ve put in a lot of hard work that I will now be able to showcase more often. While my heart is currently broken you can bet that I’m still going to show up for training next week.

“If you are looking to book me please send an email to [email protected]"

Now, the 33-year-old has officially confirmed that today they’re a free agent.

Abadon originally made their AEW debut in 2020 against Hikaru Shida and instantly grabbed everyone’s attention. Abadon challenged Shida twice for the AEW Women’s World title, but the former AEW star came up short both times. Other than that, Abadon’s had a crack at TBS title in 2023, but it generally seemed as if Tony Khan didn’t particularly know how to use Abadon’s character on a regular basis.

There was a long period where Abadon simply disappeared from television; Abadon would return to Ring of Honor and they were one of the competitors in the ROH Women’s World TV Television tournament. After that, Abadon floundered in the mid-card. While she would win squash matches here and there, the AEW star was enhancement talent to bigger names.

With Abadon’s unique character, it wouldn’t be too surprising if they ended up in WWE, though they would be a good fit in TNA Wrestling as well. Maybe Abadon and Rosemary can form Decay 3.0? That would be cool. Perhaps Danhausen can join them if he’s released next month. Anyways, here’s wishing Abadon the best in their future endeavors! The former AEW star is a talented performer so it shouldn't be too hard for Abadon to get new indie bookings. It's a shame that Tony Khan couldn't figure out how to use Abadon overall.

I could see her getting a decent chance in TNA, but unless she's getting drafted directly into the Wyatt Sicks there's just nothing for her at WWE. She's like the opposite of what they look for in women they like to push, so she'd go be a permanent jobber.
