Not long after Bandido defaated Chris Jericho to win the ROH World Championship, another title changed hands at AEW Dynasty with Adam Cole defeating Daniel Garcia to obtain the AEW TNT Championship.
Early in the match, Adam Cole went for one of his signature maneuvers, a Panama Sunrise, but after he jumped to the outside, he landed in a way that he immediately started to favor his leg, indicating a possible ankle injury of some sort.
For the rest of the match, that leg was Garcia's target, and Cole found himself limping around, nearly one leg down.
Willing himself on to not give up, possibly in part due to something the commentary team indicated about how today is the 17 year anniversary of when Cole first started his wrestling journey in Philadelphia (the same city as today's event, too), Cole pulled out a few necessary moves here and there to turn the tide.
Eventually, Garcia was so focused on doing more damage to Cole's injury that he might have made a mistake of not going for more pinfalls, as sooner than later, Garcia suffered a shining wizard to the back of the head and Cole scored a three-count to win his first title as part of All Elite Wrestling (outside of winning the 2022 Men's Owen Hart Cup).
Following the match, despite being upset over his loss, Garcia showed some respect to Cole by raising his hand and giving the new champion some time in the ring by himself to celebrate his victory.
And with that, Cole has added more gold to his legacy, and the TNT Championship has a new star at the top of the pecking order!
