AEW DYNAMITE Regains The Top Spot Over NXT In Wednesday Night Ratings War

NXT managed to overtake All Elite Wrestling's Dynamite for the past two weeks in a row, but this Wednesday saw the fledgling promotion regain the top spot in the "ratings war." More past the jump...

NXT enjoyed a rare lead in the Wednesday night ratings battle with AEW for the past two weeks in a row, but the latest episode of Dynamite regained the top spot for the upstart promotion.

There wasn't too much in it this week, but All Elite Wrestling pulled in 731,000 average viewers, up from last Wednesday's 683,000. Meanwhile, WWE's Black and Gold Brand managed 665,000 average viewers, which is down from last week’s number of 692,000.

Neither episode was particularly eventful, but Dynamite did feature two quarterfinal matches in the tournament to crown the first ever TNT Champion. Viewers are clearly more interested in this new title than NXT's tournament to decide who will become the interim Cruiserweight Champion in Jordan Devlin's absence.

Expect AEW to stay out in front next week, as we move into the semifinals and get closer to that seemingly inevitable Cody vs. Lance Archer showdown.
