NXT enjoyed a rare lead in the Wednesday night ratings battle with AEW for the past two weeks in a row, but the latest episode of Dynamite regained the top spot for the upstart promotion.
There wasn't too much in it this week, but All Elite Wrestling pulled in 731,000 average viewers, up from last Wednesday's 683,000. Meanwhile, WWE's Black and Gold Brand managed 665,000 average viewers, which is down from last week’s number of 692,000.
Neither episode was particularly eventful, but Dynamite did feature two quarterfinal matches in the tournament to crown the first ever TNT Champion. Viewers are clearly more interested in this new title than NXT's tournament to decide who will become the interim Cruiserweight Champion in Jordan Devlin's absence.
Expect AEW to stay out in front next week, as we move into the semifinals and get closer to that seemingly inevitable Cody vs. Lance Archer showdown.
