Last night's episode of AEW Dynamite celebrated the show's sixth anniversary, but controversy has somewhat overshadowed the show. Fans have taken to social media to express their unhappiness after commercials for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) were aired during the broadcast.
AEW won't have chosen these commercials, and one of its biggest stars, "Hangman" Adam Page, has shared some advice for those who aren't happy with the company.
Taking to Bluesky, Page wrote, "f**k ice airing commercials during dynamite, let em know." He followed that by posting direct links to feedback pages for the network, TBS, and its parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery.
This wouldn't be the first time that an AEW wrestler has made their feelings about ICE known. Earlier this year, Brody King wore a shirt to the ring during an episode of AEW Dynamite that featured the message "Abolish ICE." That led to backlash from those who do support ICE's activities.
In the main event trios match on last night's AEW Dynamite, Page teamed with Powerhouse Hobbs and Samoa Joe to face Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Daniel Garcia. He secured the victory for his team by hitting Castagnoli with a Deadeye and a Buckshot Lariat for the pinfall.
Post-match, friction between Page and Joe intensified. As Page attempted to hand Joe his belt, it dropped to the mat, which Joe seemed to interpret as disrespectful. Joe, visibly angered, turned Page around and verbally confronted him, with his words censored.
Despite security’s efforts to intervene, Joe claimed Page had never defeated him and then struck the champion. Powerhouse Hobbs ultimately persuaded Joe to exit the ring, defusing the situation. Now, they're set to square off for the AEW World Championship at the upcoming WrestleDream PPV.
